Android Inc. Was founded by :
1. Andy Rubin(also Co-founded Danger)
2. Rich Miner(also Co-founded Wildfire Communication Inc.)
3. Nick Sears
4. Chris White

Rubin's words, "smarter mobile devices that are more aware of its owner's location and preferences". 
Google can be acquired Android at Price $50 Million and All the Main employee of Android Inc. Including Andy Rubin, Rich Miner and Chris White in July 2005.

In 2007, Google provides the Android Operating System for Free under the  Open Handset Alliance

 – a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices.


Google provide Android source Code under open Source License.
